Imagine discovering that you were born in another country, but somehow grew up completely unaware of it. Then you discover that there is a whole culture, history, language and way of life that you have never known. There is so much to learn about where you’re really from. You would want to understand its people, its values, its customs and what it means to truly belong.
Jesus came to introduce us to an unfamiliar Kingdom: the Kingdom of God. It has a different King, a different culture and a different value system from what we grew up with. As Jesus unveils this Kingdom through His preaching, parables and demonstrations of its power, we discover the culture and values of our destined home and learn to see life from an eternal perspective.
Over six sessions, focusing on the Gospel of Luke, we will explore what it means to live as citizens of God’s everlasting Kingdom: how we respond when the Kingdom’s culture challenges our own, how the Kingdom grows without force, ways we drift, what it means to step out and represent our King and living for the Kingdom that is to come.
This is how God works. He reveals Himself - then He sends.
